Habari Blogging Application Sponsors PodCamp Ohio

Written by angelo on May 18, 2008 – 9:14 pm -

Habari Blogging PlatformPodCamp Ohio is proud to be sponsored by Habari, an open source blogging platform.

Habari is a next-generation blogging platform coded with a firm understanding of the current state of blogging. Most other blogging packages have been around long enough that their solutions for features like comment spam and other plug-in functionality result in cumbersome and inefficient patches and plug-ins. Habari is being developed from scratch to take into consideration all of the functionality possible in a modern blogging platform.

Please visit the Habari wiki for more details on what makes Habari different from other blogging platforms.

Podcamp Meetup 3

Written by angelo on February 3, 2008 – 7:49 pm -

Today’s meeting was awesome. It was excellent talking shop with Scott and Mike.

Both Scott and Mike had some great ideas for PodCamp Ohio. Thanks to them, our list of potential sponsors is bigger than ever! Scott has some contacts at Ohio State, which may be interested in participating and potentially sponsoring our event. We also talked about sessions and the event budget. Mike will be attending the Cincinnati New Media meetup this coming weekend where he’ll be distributing our event cards.

Scott is a lead developer for a cutting edge blogging application called Habari. Habari has the potential to rival WordPress. I just took a look at the project code and appears to be very well written.

Mike is the creator of the What’s the Big Idea podcast, a video podcast for entrepreneurs & business professional.

Following the meeting, I visited the hotels in the area as well as Dave and Busters to get some information. I am going to plan on blocking off 50 rooms between the 3 major hotels. I’m also going to see if we can work out a special sponsorship deal with Dave and Busters. I’ll be speaking with the manager tomorrow to get more details.
