Mike captures audiences with his engaging live performances. Inspired by artists Tim Reynolds, Howie Day and Joseph Arthur, Mike incorporates the use of a technique called “looping” or “sampling” that happens LIVE by adding layers of sounds, finally creating the presence of a full band. You’ll be tapping your feet when Mike cuts phat beats (yes, phat…) live on-stage to accompany his songs.
Although still relatively new to the music scene, Mike has shared the stage with many national acts including: Pat McGee Band, Ari Hest, Matt Wertz, Mat Kearney, Jump (little children), Lifehouse, Tim Reynolds, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Virginia Coalition, Jack Johnson, G. Love and Special Sauce, Blessid Union of Souls, Matt White, ZOX, Michael Tolcher, Rusted Root, Collective Soul, Cary Brothers, The Clarks, Josh Hoge, Mason Jennings, Blue October, Carbon Leaf, Red Wanting Blue, Oval Opus, Mieka Pauley, and The Damnwells.
Watch for Mike’s latest CD due out this year!

]]>We would like to invite attendees to fill out our Sessions Survey so we may better determine which rooms would be appropriate for the sessions. Depending on feedback, we may determine to move 1-2 sessions to other session time slots to better serve attendees.
Our first task was to assess the rooms available. One of the rooms available to us the entire day is perfect for our First Aid room for podcasters to setup their computers and practice podcasting. While taking pictures of the other rooms, we discovered 5 break out rooms that will be available to us as well. These are perfect rooms for those who may want to have a discussion or record interviews outside of the hallways. We also took some pictures of the lounge area, which will have vending machines and plenty of seating for socializing and networking.
We also inquired about Internet access for the event. Each projector has an ethernet port available for the presenter. In addition, there will be wireless access available as well. The wireless access will most likely be made available via a guest account. We will get more details for this when we’re closer to the event.
Brandice is collecting promotional videos, if you would like to create a creative photo, video or audio file promoting PodCamp, please contact Brandice (brandice [at] podcampohio.com). Be creative!
We will be ordering 1,000 PodCamp Ohio stickers from stickerrobot.com this weekend. Brandice will be adding information about COMFest, which will be going on in Columbus during the weekend of PodCamp Ohio! We will be adding the Google Map of Attendees to the web site this weekend.
We’re now accepting sessions, if you would like to host a session, please go to the sessions page and register your session as soon as possible.
The next PodCamp meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 8 pm.

March Meetup #4 in Cincinnati
PodCamp Ohio Meetup 4 will be taking place with the New Media Cincinnati meetup on Saturday, March 15 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the Panera Bread (405 East Kemper Road, Springdale, OH 45246) by Tri-county mall (map). Thanks Daniel for helping us get this meetup coordinated!
Please RSVP for the meetup on the New Media Cincinnati Facebook (www.newmediacincinnati.com) or reply with a comment on the New Media Cincinnati Blog.
For those driving from as far as Northeastern Ohio and plan on shopping at the new Ohio Ikea, please contact Angelo (angelo [at] podcampohio.com).
Here are my initial thoughts. The topics for these lightning sessions will need to attract multiple speakers, a topic that many podcasters and bloggers feel comfortable contributing to the conversation. Topics that come to mind are Web Site Tools (speakers talk for 5 minutes on tools they recommend for their blog/podcast web site) or Hardware Recommendations (speakers talk for 5 minutes on hardware they recommend, briefly how to use, etc…). What other session ideas are there that many podcasters would want to speak about?
Speaking for myself, I don’t plan on speaking at a full 1 hour session, but I would feel conformable speaking for 5 minutes on something specific such as WordPress plugins useful for WordPress web sites.
To see if this would work, please comment on this post with your ideas or thoughts if you would like to be a lightning speaker and/or what topics you would like in a lighting session. If there is enough interest, then we may give it a try with 1-2 sessions.
