What a great time we had tonight! I would like to thank everyone who participated in the call tonight including Angelo, Brandice, Gabe, Mitch, Travis, Daniel, DG & Court. (Hope I didn’t forget anyone). Even though we talked for two hours, it went by really fast. And, I think that this is a little snapshot of what is going to happen Saturday at Podcamp. Social Networking @ PodCamp Ohio

Some organizers and volunteers will be sending twitter messages throughout the day to the @PodCampOhio account with important event information, session announcements and general event reporting. Please be sure to follow @PodCampOhio so you are in the loop during PodCamp Ohio.

Chris Brogan created a general PodCamp Twitter Group Account for all PodCamps. For those Twitter users who follow @podcamp, all you have to do is type pod (space) your message send to this group.

We have another T-shirt winner, Steve Bostedor (Twitter: @sbostedor). Steve was one of the first 200 registered guests that was randomly chosen from the first 200 registered guests.

During meeting 28, we discussed registration, separate twitter account to send twitter announcements when someone checks in, announced t-shirt winner, discussed the podcamp schedule from Thursday night through Sunday morning, staff t-shirts have been ordered, event guide, session schedule, Brandice’s wedding in Las Vegas, and we answered some questions that some organizers and speakers had that were on the call. We also discussed the New Media Expo, Ham Radios, Digital Television, Internet access during PodCamp Ohio and the need to put together and send event information to registered guests.

Speakers

If you are speaking at PodCamp, screen projectors are available, but we will need to know ahead of time if you need one so we have it in your room. Please email angelo (angelo [at] podcampohio.com) and let us know if you will need a projector. You must provide your own computer that has a VGA port and 7-15 foot ethernet cable to connect to the Internet.

I’m really starting to get excited about this Saturday’s Podcamp Ohio event, and I hope that you are, too! I can’t wait to start networking and meet new people. I can’t wait to start learning as much as I can about new media like blogs, podcasts, video blogging, social networking, and anything else.

Here’s an idea: Why not get this party started early – like before all of us get on site in Columbus. And, I think I have the opportunity to do just that. The Doctor Anonymous Show is happy to welcome anyone and everyone associated with Podcamp Ohio on Thursday, June 26th at 9pm eastern time.

What is The Doctor Anonymous Show? Well, I’m glad that you asked. It is a live internet radio show where you can participate in a number of ways – like in our live interactive chat room, or you can call into the show to talk to me or anyone else on the show, and you will see my shining face on the live webcam. How exciting is that?

I already have some of the organizers and some people who will be presenting sessions on Thursday’s show. So, if you’re like me and can’t wait until Saturday to get Podcamp Ohio started, join me for The Doctor Anonymous Show on Thursday! Check out my blog for more details. See you there!

If you find yourself needing a dance break, background music for your personal podcast or some relief from the pressure of your iPod headphones during PodCamp Ohio, you’re in luck. Mike Genovese, a solo, acoustic musician from Columbus, Ohio (via Cleveland), will provide lunchtime tunes at PCO starting at 12:30p at ITT.

Mike captures audiences with his engaging live performances. Inspired by artists Tim Reynolds, Howie Day and Joseph Arthur, Mike incorporates the use of a technique called “looping” or “sampling” that happens LIVE by adding layers of sounds, finally creating the presence of a full band. You’ll be tapping your feet when Mike cuts phat beats (yes, phat…) live on-stage to accompany his songs.

Although still relatively new to the music scene, Mike has shared the stage with many national acts including: Pat McGee Band, Ari Hest, Matt Wertz, Mat Kearney, Jump (little children), Lifehouse, Tim Reynolds, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Virginia Coalition, Jack Johnson, G. This will be the last meetup before PodCamp Ohio! Meetup 7 will take place on Saturday, June 21 from 11:00 am – 1:00 PM at the Hilliard Panara Bread (3625 Fishinger Blvd, Hilliard, OH 43026) close to ITT Technical Institute (map). Immediately following, we will visit ITT for organizers and volunteers to check out the facilities. Organizers and Volunteers are strongly recommended to come to the meetup to go over event plans and duties.
