Meeting 28 – Another T-shirt Winner!
Written by angelo on June 24, 2008 – 9:22 am -We have another T-shirt winner, Steve Bostedor (Twitter: @sbostedor). Steve was one of the first 200 registered guests that was randomly chosen from the first 200 registered guests.
During meeting 28, we discussed registration, separate twitter account to send twitter announcements when someone checks in, announced t-shirt winner, discussed the podcamp schedule from Thursday night through Sunday morning, staff t-shirts have been ordered, event guide, session schedule, Brandice’s wedding in Las Vegas, and we answered some questions that some organizers and speakers had that were on the call. We also discussed the New Media Expo, Ham Radios, Digital Television, Internet access during PodCamp Ohio and the need to put together and send event information to registered guests.
Speakers
If you are speaking at PodCamp, screen projectors are available, but we will need to know ahead of time if you need one so we have it in your room. Please email angelo (angelo [at] podcampohio.com) and let us know if you will need a projector. You must provide your own computer that has a VGA port and 7-15 foot ethernet cable to connect to the Internet.

Final Meetup before PodCamp This Weekend!
This will be the last meetup before PodCamp Ohio! Meetup 7 will take place on Saturday, June 21 from 11:00 am – 1:00 PM at the Hilliard Panara Bread (3625 Fishinger Blvd, Hilliard, OH 43026) close to ITT Technical Institute (map). Immediately following, we will visit ITT for event organizers and volunteers to check out the facilities. Organizers and Volunteers are strongly recommended to come to the meetup to go over event plans and duties.

Meeting 27 – Qdoba for Lunch!
Written by angelo on June 18, 2008 – 10:54 pm -During meeting 27, we talked about getting lunch catered by Qdoba, event t-shirts ordered (240 total), ordering t-shirts for volunteers, swag materials including Chocolate Buckeyes from Harry London Chocolates and Dave and Busters $10 coupons, and talk about the session schedule.
Half way through the meeting we spoke with Chris, he has 2 session ideas that he may submit to present at PodCamp Ohio.
We are seeking door prizes to give away during the day of the event. If you have any podcasting gear or other related merchandise to donate for us to raffle off the day of the event, please contact angelo (angelo [at] podcampohio.com).
We wrapped up the meeting talking about the finale meeting schedule for Thursday, June 26th on Doctor Anonymous‘ podcast on Blog Talk Radio.

Session Schedule Now Available

Sessions Survey
We would like to invite attendees to fill out our Sessions Survey so we may better determine which rooms would be appropriate for the sessions. Depending on feedback, we may determine to move 1-2 sessions to other session time slots to better serve attendees.

Meeting 26 – Congratulations Brandice!

During meeting 26, we list through the current status of podcamp including the inclusion of Harry London buckeye chocolates for event guests, opportunity to have lunch catered, thoughts on event schedule, latest sponroship announcements (TechSmith) and more. Later in the episode we chat with Jon about Honda and end the meeting talking with Zeb about the event.

Calling All Volunteers!

We are seeking volunteers for PodCamp Ohio. There are three areas where you can help.
- Registration – Greet attendees, help guests sign in and help hand out event bags and t-shirts.
- Session Assistant – Help speakers and attendees find rooms and assist speakers with getting setup where necessary.
- Record Sessions – Assist Coefficient Media with recording (audio and/or video) the sessions.
If you would like to assist us, please email volunteer [at] podcampohio.com and indicate which of the three areas above you would like to volunteer for. Please include your t-shirt size and any time restraints you may have during the day. We need your response by June 15th so we can order your t-shirt.
Pre-Event Volunteer Schedule
- Meetup 7, Saturday, June 21 at Panera Bread by ITT 11am – Go over the event day game plan for Registration and Sessions with volunteers and organizers. at 1pm, we will take a brief tour of the school and go over questions anyone may have.
- Group Dinner, Friday, June 27 at Damon’s next to ITT @ 6pm – Everyone, including attendees are welcome to join us at the Damon’s by ITT for dinner. PLEASE BRING YOUR WALLETS, THIS DINNER IS NOT SPONSORED, SORRY EVERYONE.
- Event Walk Through – Friday, June 27 at ITT @ 8pm – We will do a brief walk through ITT and if there is time, setup tables for registration. Organizers and Volunteers are strongly encouraged to make it to this walk through.
- Wind down – Friday, June 27 at Damon’s @ 9pm – We’ll be hanging out at the Damon’s next to ITT following the Walk Through. This will be a great opportunity for Organizers and Volunteers to mingle with speakers and attendees who just arrived into town who are looking to wind down the evening before the big day.
- Early Morning – Saturday, June 28 at ITT @ 8am – Volunteers meet to setup registration and start signing in guests.
- PodCamp Opens – Saturday, June 28 at ITT @ 9am – Start signing in guests and assisting attendees.
Post-Event Volunteer Schedule
- Closing – 5:30pm – Clean up; return tables to their correct classrooms, pick up garbage, etc…
- Dave and Busters – 6pm – Meet at Dave and Busters to relax and play some games!

Meeting 24 – Survey Results!
Written by angelo on June 4, 2008 – 8:35 am -During meeting 24 (Held on May 22), we discussed plans for meeting volunteers the day before PodCamp. This is in addition to the last meetup on Saturday, June 21. We also discussed how we will organize volunteers for the day of the event. We decided to plan on having lunch at Damon’s next door to ITT. We’ve confirmed with Damon’s, they are ok with our music guest playing on the Damon’s patio. We also decided to keep the intro session to 20 minutes that way the event is focused on the sessions. Dave and Busters will only have 100 coupons for us to distribute to PodCamp attendees. If that remains, we will plan on giving out the Dave and Busters coupons at the end of the event.
We also talked about the current results of the sessions survey. As of current, the survey has ‘Strategies for blogging, podcasting and social network marketing’, ‘What NOT To Do. Podcasting and other Social Media Anti-Tips’ and the ‘podcasting 101′ sessions have over 40% interest. We may plan on holding these sessions in the larger rooms. If you would like to help us better plan the sessions, please take a moment and fill out our Sessions Survey.
Last part of the meeting we discussed the past weekends meetup on May 17. Following the meetup we visited ITT and did some video recording of the facilities then hate lunch at the Damon’s next door.
